Hello dear,
I'd like to greet you again, but this time  not as my students, i'd better  mention you as your loving mums' sons and daughters. Here are some supplementary pics and video to help greet your moms tomorrow, since Mother's Day is coming  bringing  a chance to tell your love , respect and devotion to the best person in the world- your angel, your teacher, your friend----YOUR MOTHER.

Remember me to your moms and send them a lot of love from my heart, too.
P.S. and don't forget the  grannies.

Dear friends,
Since we are lacking some academic hours these days, I'd like "to cut down the corners" with two video episodes ( honestly, they are my favourites)- one is musical, by the way.
Hope you'll recognize the film (You've got mail) and enjoy them as much as I do.
Happy weekends, dear!
I'll see you when I meet you!

Dear friends,
Please, turn your eyes to the right corner of the page and notice a new rubric PICS & PRESENTATIONS.
Since now you can choose the presentation which you've somehow missed in our class. There will be pics, posters, lingua files to catch up with the group progress. I'll try to make your learning valid in case you fall a bit behind the others.
Take your time!

celebrations

Hello, friends,

do you remember what day is it? Why, it's the 5th of November, Guy Fawkes' Day!

Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain. Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure.

Don't you Remember,
The Fifth of November,
'Twas Gunpowder Treason Day,
I let off my gun,
And made'em all run.
And Stole all their Bonfire away. (1742)

The fifth of November, since I can remember,
Was Guy Faux, Poke him in the eye,
Shove him up the chimney-pot, and there let him die.
A stick and a stake, for King George's sake,
If you don't give me one, I'll take two,
The better for me, and the worse for you,
Ricket-a-racket your hedges shall go. (1903

                                      3d  November 2012
They say, curiosity is incurable.
Moreover,  Alice (from "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carrol) often wonders and exclaims " So curiosier and curiosier"  "Всё чудесатее и чудесатее" (which is broken grammar, of course). so, keep your eyes open and try not to miss the event of the day.

It's been a hard day really. Our best pupils from grade 10 were participating in a gala performance in the State University. The party was devoted to the glorious jubilee of the faculty of Romanic and Germanic Philology, the one which has been "alma mater" for most of foreign languages teachers of our gymnasia. We'd like to share our pleasure with you. Here come the lines we devoted to the faculty and the  pictures of our performance on the stage.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,
 students, tutors, professors,
newcomers and everybody in this hall.
It’s our privilege and pleasure to greet the faculty on a particular day of its anniversary.
Let the sun shine into your windows,
let students be talented and smart,
let professors be tolerant and understanding.
Best of luck in every project!
Congratulations!
